Vlog: Who is responsible for strategy implementation?

While the Strategic Management Institute (SMI) has defined the role of the Chief Strategy Officer, a noticeable absentee from the list of responsibilities is that of strategy implementation. Many observers of strategy have offered the observation accentuate the problem this causes: "it doesn't matter how good your strategy is, if it isn't implemented properly it is useless". Similarly, research findings across the decades, including our own, have found that only about 20% of implementation efforts have been worthwhile. It begs the question therefore, "who is responsible for strategy implementation?" The answer is quite broad it would seem. In this video the answer is based on an analysis of the strategy implementation element of the Third Wave Strategy framework (explained in the books Corporate Strategy (Remastered) I and II). It is the element referred to as the Program of Continual Strategy Renewal.
